Go Vegan for Lent!

Lent starts on Wednesday, the 17th of February and will continue for 46 days until Saturday, the 3rd of April. And for those of you who practice and recognize Lent, how about giving up animal products? In other words, go vegan for Lent.

"Honor the following three traditional Lenten practices:
Prayer—honor God by showing mercy to all of His creatures.
Fasting—honor God by improving your health.
Almsgiving—renew justice toward thy neighbor, both human and nonhuman."

If you pledge to go vegan for Lent, you can receive some support with tips, recipes, product info, etc. from Peta via email.

And for those of you not doing the Lent thing, you might consider the 21-day Vegan Kick Start. On March 1, the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine is starting a program designed for anyone who wants to explore and experience the health benefits of a vegan diet. The Kickstart will give you celebrity tips, nutrition webcasts, 21-day meal plan, restaurant guide, community forum, and daily messages.
